Description

"Our products are primarily unique designs, no direct copies of older circuits. Clarity, note definition, and a wide range of tones, textures, flexibility, and functions are hallmarks of Barber pedals. We're committed to musician friendly pricing and do not engage in extreme boutique pricing." ~ David Barber

We've been huge fans of David Barber's pedals for years and are thrilled to welcome Barber Electronics to The Music Emporium's growing roster of pedal builders! As a testament to how good these pedals are, check out David's client list: Eric Johnson, Nils Lofgren, David Grissom, Richard Thompson, Christopher Cross, Rick Derringer, Lionel Loueke, Johnny Hiland, and Jerry Cantrell. Whew, that's a hell of a list!

Taking the time-honored recording technique of "parallel compression" and putting it into a pedal, the legendary Tone Press gives you some of the most useable, beautiful sounding compression we've heard in a pedal. To do this, Barber developed a unique, continuous "blend control" circuit and combined it with a discrete "Class A" FET mixer circuit to allow you to continuously blend the natural signal of your guitar with a "phase-corrected" classic compression circuit. Gone is the (usually) undesirable "pop" you experience when picking a note with a typical compressor pedal engaged.

The blend control can go from 100% dry to 100% compressed so you're not limited to a 50/50% blend. Some of the best parallel compression sounds are achieved with very high sustain settings and more than 50% dry blend. There's little point to a parallel compressor than can only take you half way there, no?

Check out the Tone Press if you've been on the compressor search. It delivers what so many of us have always wanted - unaltered attack with supernatural sustain and resonance. Highly recommended!
