Description

Kevin Ryan never ceases to impress us with his innovative designs and exquisite artistic appointments, and this 10-string Abbey Grand Parlor in Sinker Redwood & Rosewood is no exception. Sadly, this one sold before we could even get it on the site, but given its uniqueness, we couldn't help but share it anyways!

With fingerstyle players in mind, Ryan combined his parlor-size model, the Abbey, which features a standard scale length for more volume than traditional parlor guitars, with his inventive 10-string design. Single B and E strings allow for clear treble melodies, while the G-string course is flipped, so the higher string is hit with an upstroke of a finger or pick. On the low E, A and D strings, you have a standard double course set-up, giving you all the ringing shimmer you want out of a 12-string. The bridge has six normal pins and four channels through which to pass the course strings (really clever!). And most interestingly of all, Ryan has chosen an exceedingly light string gauge for this guitar, making the courses very playable for hammer-on & pull-off work.

While this one may already be sold, we are expecting more later this year. Let us know if you're interested!
