Description

"My passion for restoring and building instruments began in 1982. I have worked for numerous artists who have shaped and inspired the guitars I build today. My designs offer the revered tones and iconic vibe found in great vintage instruments, coupled with refined solid construction, boutique electronics and custom feel." - Bill Asher

This is our first Asher Electro Sonic and we're seriously impressed! Inspired by Asher's lap steel guitars, the Electro Sonic was designed for bottle-neck slide players or anyone looking for fat Les Paul tones with amazing sustain.

The Electro Sonic is essentially a killer 60s style Les Paul crossed with an Asher lap steel - a very cool thing to be sure! This guitar feels amazing to play and the quality of the build is obvious the second you pick it up. It's quite light, btw, coming in at 7.25lbs. A few strums unplugged is all it takes to sense that this is a very alive, resonant guitar.

Made from African Okoume, A+ flamed maple, and a Brazilian rosewood (fretboard), the ES has all the makings of a great Gibson-style guitar. There are subtle details like the bullseye fretboard markers on the side of the neck, nylon saddles, easy truss rod access (right by the neck pickup), a black stinger on the back of the headstock, and a very cool lap steel-esq tailpiece w/a string-through-the-body design. Throw in a set of Throbak ER Custom humbuckers and you've got one hell of a cool guitar!

All the LP tones you'd ever want are here, though it seems limiting to simply compare it to a LP. This guitar is more than an LP in a different shape. There's a fluidity to this guitar's playability and tones that its shape implies. Beautifully set up with amazing, open, breathy, and fat tones to boot, this is a fantastic instrument that's worth serious consideration if you're looking for a dual humbucker guitar. Priced with hardshell case.
