Description

"The guitars are finished to look like real instruments made by a real person, not poured out of a mold on the other side of the globe. All custom guitars are designed in collaboration with the players who use them - professionals, beginners, and in-between." -Creston Lea

Made a few hours north of TME in Burlington, VT, Creston builds each guitar to the customer's specs. Those customers include the likes of Kris Delmhorst, Jaleel Bunton (TV on the Radio), Mark Erelli, Ian Mackay (Fugazi), Jay Farrar (Son Volt), Zack Hickman (Josh Ritter), Henry Kaiser, Michael Millard (Froggy Botton Guitars), and dozens of others.

In the case of this incredible Offset Baritone, Creston himself took on the role of the customer...

"I have a catalog of guitars in my head that I want to see made. Some are less revolutionary than others, but they all tend to have slightly unconventional ingredients, even if the basic forms are familiar. Like lots of my guitars, they're meant to solve problems or fill holes - you wish you could play a guitar with the look and feel of a Jazzmaster but the sound of a Gibson, for example."

Whatever the original inspiration, we're hooked. Old-school/cool looks meets inspired design in a way that has us reaching for the reverb knob on our amps and the whammy bar on this flawless Mastery bridge/trem.

Some baritone guitars fight you or just feel a little odd to play to more standard scale players - not so on this one. Thanks to the offset body, super comfortable neck carve, and an excellent setup, this baritone invites creative playing. We always find it impossible to play the same ol', same ol' on a great baritone. They simply put you in a different mindset that's way more about ideas, riffs, and parts than it is tried and true licks.

Plugged in, there's plenty of low-end growl on tap although it never gets muddy thanks to the Lollar'Tron pickups. That classic chime and top end we've come to expect from this style of pickup lends itself perfectly to this type of guitar.

Creston Lea has earned a stellar reputation amongst a wide range of players and for good reason - this is any incredibly fun, killer looking, sounding and playing guitar! Priced with original Creston/Levys gig bag.
