Description

"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings

New to the 290 model? To help get you started, they're a slab mahogany body and mahogany neck coupled with P90 pickups. They're full of chime, midrange snarl, gorgeous cleans or Marshall half-stack ready overdriven tones, these guitars cover a huge range of tones. Think of the 290 as the Gibson-style equivalent of a Tele, or the electric equivalent of a Martin D-18 - which is to say, they're super musical, versatile, stripped down instruments that you want to make music on.

What makes this one NAMM worthy? Well, there's the full-body metallic Candy Apple Red finish for one (underneath Collings' tastefully distressed Aged Lacquer). Add a Jason Lollar Staple P90 to the equation, and you've got a heavily customized, one-off example of the highly-sought-after 290 that's firing on all cylinders and spitting tones a lot fatter than you'd expect from a Jr.-style guitar. This instrument's looks (and sound) turned heads at NAMM, and we're happy to host it in the showroom!

Priced with Ameritage hardshell case.
