Our latest Duo Glide got its inspiration from the classic 3 pickup Gibson SG Custom. We reached out to Saul Koll with the idea of having his take on this iconic guitar melded with his equally killer Duo Glide model. The result is at once incredibly beautiful and elegant - yet - 100% rock n roll. Saul is the master of these types of juxtapositions which is one of the things we love most about his work. 

Hendrix. Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Keith Richards. All have sported a 3 pick SG Custom at one time or another which tells you all you need to know - there's more to these guitars than Angus Young and a Marshall half-stack (not that there's anything wrong with that!). While this Duo Glide captures the original's vibe with ease, it brings its own vibe to the table as well. As a quick reference, imagine an SG Custom crossed with a Gretsch Duo Jet and you'll start to approximate what's going on with this build. 

Like all Kolls we've had, the build has a wonderful hand-made quality and feel...Saul's guitars just draw you in and make you want to create with them. They're lively, resonant, open sounding. Simply put, they're incredibly musical instruments. Master builders like Saul somehow infuse their builds with a special musical quality that's both addictive and inspiring. It's something that's hard to bottle, but you know it when you play it. 

Not only a pretty face, this Duo Glide sounds phenomenal. The Arcane humbuckers retain a gorgeous clarity and articulation while delivering all the punch you'd expect from a great humbucker. Clean or overdriven, it's not hard to find the tones you need. The main 3-way switch works like you'd expect (upper horn) with the 2nd 3-way switch (by the volume/tone controls) controls the middle pickup. A really cool set up allowing you to add or remove the middle pup in any combination you desire.
