Description

This unique Yanuziello electric was recently sent to us by legendary guitarist, Henry Kaiser. It's always a thrill to have any Joe Yanuziello-made instrument in the shop, but the cool factor certainly goes up knowing that it used to belong to such a pioneering guitar player. Henry favors long-scale guitars these days, it should be noted. It's the only reason he would part with such a lovey instrument - well, that, and to acquire another (long-scale) Yanuziello, of course!

Like a breath of fresh air, Joe's guitars occupy a very unique place in the guitar market. Seeing one for the first time elicits a feeling that you've somehow overlooked an unknown, very cool, decades-old model or brand while browsing the usual brands. But spend a little time studying the guitar and its masterful details start to emerge: the way the pickguard shape flows from the bass side of the neck and catches the curve of the bridge pickup; the way the lines on the domed ivoroid knobs meet in the center of the knob; the elegant, minimalist bridge design; the pickup covers...lots to take in, especially when you learn that Joe is the craftsman behind all of these details. These guitars are truly works of playable art.

Yanuziello fans will note that the pickups look larger than the typical Fralin-made gold foils Joe uses. These are indeed humbucker versions of the gold foil Joe normally uses ("basically narrower versions of my Fralin pickups ganged up side-by-side as humbucking"). They retain the signature Yanuziello sound - articulate, open, chimey top-end - but with fatter mids, enhanced bass, and a touch more output.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition with minimal, if any, fret wear. The setup spot on - it's super easy to play this guitar. Signs of wear largely center around the back of the guitar - light indentations and finish marks are scattered around the back of the guitar, none breaking the paint and there are no chips in the finish. The top shows very light wear, the bulk of it on the pickguard - just light pick swirls.

Yanuziello guitars don't often come up for sale on the used market - and certainly not with this provenance. We highly recommend checking this one out - a stunning piece to be sure! Priced with hardshell case.
