Description

We do get a bit jaded, seeing what seems like nothing but as-new trades and consignments here at TME. But this Collings MF5 Varnish is the exception to the rule. It's nearly 15 years old; and it's been played hard. Its most recent owner brought it in recently; and we did a fresh setup & cleaned the finish. It's looking great -- excellent condition, and just the right amount of that slightly matte texture that a well-traveled varnish finish acquires. The best part of this equation? SOUND. Hands down. This is easily one of the best sounding Collings mandolins we've ever heard. It's wide-open, woody, loud, punchy -- and all that with a high end that just won't quit. Looking for a Collings MF5 to play bluegrass with? You won't do better than this. Priced with its original Collings TKL case--call us and ask for Jordan if you'd like an in-hand description.

On consignment.
