Ellis A5 Special 40th Anniversary

Sold

Description

TME is happy to host this Ellis A5 mandolin ~ half of a pair of instruments Tom Ellis built to celebrate his 40th anniversary in the world of lutherie (he kept the matching F5 for himself). The woods for this mandolin were selected from Tom's private stash, and the Texas Bluebonnet peghead inlay was done by Tom himself. An extraordinary sounding instrument, which is perfectly balanced across the fretboard, with incredible volume and depth of tone. The best sounding Ellis A-style mandolin we've ever had in the shop ~ priced with custom made vintage style hard case from Collings!
