Description

Back in 2000, in the age of plenty, Collings rated the Brazilian rosewood on this 0002H as AA. Does anyone care today?! A, B, AAA, just let us have some Brazilian. The wood is very dark, old-growth, classically figured. And after almost 20 years, still very stable and crack free. Way better than AA! The guitar itself is an upgraded 0002H with a bound fingerboard and peg head and gold Waverly tuners. And don't be fooled by the Engelman top--this guitar smokes many of the Adirondack topped Collings we've had in the shop. It's big and open and the Brazilian imparts just the right amount of metallic brilliance while preserving the woodiness and roundness of tone. No stridency in this one. Balanced and highly responsive to the lightest touch, this guitar is for the player who understands when one needs to lay back and let the wood do the talking!
