Description

"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings

Let's call a spade a spade - this is one of the coolest 290s we've had. We asked Collings to make TME a guitar that would be a worthy alternative to their carved-top City Limits. A slab mahogany body, wraptail bridge, and humbuckers gets you into the LP-style world with only the essentials.

We love the LP Special-meets-City Limits vibe of this guitar. There's a purity to the design that lets you get down to playing, no muss, no fuss. The lack of a maple top adds an awesome, punchy low-mid warmth, though this guitar has plenty of top-end sparkle to keep things from ever getting muddy. Resonant, lively, and a hell of a lot of fun played clean or overdriven.

In the market for a killer humbucker-equipped guitar that retains all the things that make the vintage Specials great, but at the same time improves upon the formula? This is your guitar. Priced with original hardshell case.
