Description

If you've been looking for a special Collings dreadnought, buckle up. This D-42, their first made with Amazon Rosewood back & sides, was constructed for display at the 2020 NAMM show -- and looks aside, one strum will tell you why. The Amazon Rosewood back & sides impart significant growl into the low end -- we're reminded of Cocobolo a bit, but this guitar has a clearer sound than Cocobolo dreadnoughts usually do. A drop-dead powerhouse of a strumming guitar, with volume to spare, it fingerpicks beautifully as well, delivering gorgeous overtones all across the fingerboard. Also features the beautiful abalone peghead border option. As befits a guitar of this stature, a Collings handcrafted vintage-style hard case is included in the price.
