Description

"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings

This 2013 Collings SoCo Deluxe is simply outstanding and one of the nicest looking SoCos we've seen in some time!

Once you get beyond the looks, the first thing you notice when taking this SoCo out of the case is the weight. You'd expect a semi-hollow guitar like this to have some heft to it but not so here - this guitar comes in at 7lbs 11oz. The setup is spot on and the Bigsby works flawlessly. Anything from jazz chord solos to primal rock riffs are possible on this versatile guitar. To our ears, the SoCo adds just a bit more low mid / bass content to the semi-hollow platform (vs the Collings I-35). Subtle, but it's there.

Condition: Excellent - only light signs of prior ownership.

If you've been looking for a semi-hollow guitar but can't decide between a SoCo and an I-35, consider the added low-mid/bass content and size - the SoCo being closer to a full-sized ES-335 (the I-35 is about an inch smaller all around). A wonderful guitar to be sure! Priced with hard case by Ameritage.
