Description

"The guitars are finished to look like real instruments made by a real person, not poured out of a mold on the other side of the globe. All custom guitars are designed in collaboration with the players who use them - professionals, beginners, and in-between." -Creston Lea

When Creston Lea drops you a line and says, "Just finished up this guitar...I think it's one of the coolest instruments I've ever made"...you do what any sensible guitar loving nerd would do - you snag it, immediately!

What appears to be a classic Jazzmaster on the surface reveals a far more clever/updated design when digging deeper. Split block inlays on the maple/Indian rosewood neck, a Lollar P90 housed in a Jazzmaster cover for the bridge pickup, a standard Lollar Jazzmaster pickup for the neck pickup, a Mastery bridge and trem, 10" radius, no "rhythm" circuit, staggered Gotoh Kluson tuners....yes please.

Taken as a whole, these specs combine to create a guitar that is quite a bit easier to play than most Jazzmasters we've encountered. Truth be told, the .830" C spec had us expecting a thinner neck carve but this beautifully bound neck has more heft to it than that spec would lead you to think. It's an incredibly comfortable guitar to play with top-notch fretwork and setup.

The real mind-blower? Plugging it in. Holy moly this is an amazing sounding Jazzmaster! The P90 in the bridge position has the perfect amount of midrange grit and top-end chime. The standard Jazzmaster neck pickup brings in the "Strat neck pickup on steroids" vibe, and combined? Gorgeous.

Creston Lea has earned a stellar reputation amongst a wide range of players and for good reason - his guitars continue to knock us out! Priced with original Creston/Levys gig bag.
