Fairbanks F-45 Aged Finish

Sold

Description

Our latest instruments from Fairbanks Guitars are in the shop! Based on the sound, feel and look of the previous "Aged" F-20 we sold, we were eager to try the effect on a big-bodied guitar. Witness this F-45, Dale's homage to the classic slope-shouldered dreadnought, in a super-thin aged lacquer finish. Whatever your feelings about relic'd finishes may be, we're willing to bet you'd want to cozy up to this guitar after one strum. Not only does it look worn in a familiar way, the neck feels played-in and the guitar resonates like one that's been played for decades. The sound is very woody and warm. Dare we say it? Better than a lot of the old slope D's that come into the shop. Fantastic openness and balance, with the great fat trebles you'd want out of a vintage guitar. In our estimation, you'll do no better if you're shopping for a round-shouldered dreadnought ... whether you're thinking new or vintage. Priced with red-line Harptone case.
