Description

"Building guitars with your own hands, as good as possible and beyond, is nothing a career counselor suggests in high-school (at least not a responsible-minded one). Guitar making is more a calling than a profession, but it is not about 'more, more'. Our constant craving is better, better, better."

Recently in on consignment, this like new Orca '59 is an excellent reminder of everything we love about Nik Huber's brilliant guitars!

This guitar brilliantly juxtaposes flawless build quality with the tactile immediacy of a satin/open pore finish. There's something bold, confident, and exceedingly satisfying about a guitar that is so well made but isn't afraid to let you connect with the raw materials used - i.e., there's no "hiding" behind shinny, glossy finishes here. The lack of a gloss finish creates an immediate connection - you can literally feel the texture of the wood in your hands. It also creates a really resonant, open, and alive guitar. The term addictive comes to mind.

The neck carve is fat but extremely well shaped - it never feels overbearing or fatiguing. The playability, fretwork, and feel is exceptional.[

Think Les Paul meets Strat when plugged in. The 25" scale adds some beautiful snap and clarity to the traditional Les Paul punch and heft that's also present in this guitar. Add the humbucker coil tap to the mix, and some surprisingly Strat-like tones start to surface. This guitar won't replace your Strat by any means, but you've got a wealth of very usable tones at your disposal, not just Les Paul tones.

Condition: Mint / like new with original hardshell case and paperwork.

These are quickly becoming some of our favorite LP-insipred guitars. Pick on up and we think you'll see why! Priced with hardshell case.

On consignment, no trades please.
