Description

"Building guitars with your own hands, as good as possible and beyond, is nothing a career counselor suggests in high-school (at least not a responsible-minded one). Guitar making is more a calling than a profession, but it is not about 'more, more'. Our constant craving is better, better, better."

Without a doubt, this 'Rusty Petrol Blue' Orca '59 is one of the most unique Nik Huber guitars we've had at the shop to date! This incredibly cool finish indeed lives up to its name, giving this maple-topped, 25" scale Orca '59 a rusty metal appearance. Coupled with Huber's wonderful "barely there" finish on the back of both the body and neck, this unique top finish creates an appealing alternative to a traditional relic, though the player gains the same benefits of a "broken in" feel.

The "Fat Back" neck carve is extremely well shaped, never feeling overly chunky or fatiguing. The playability, fretwork, and overall feel are exceptional - no surprise here as these are hallmarks of every Huber instrument.

Plugged in, think Les Paul meets, say, a Tele (yes, we're serious). The 25" scale adds additional snap and clarity to the warmer, punchier mahogany body/maple top Les Paul tones present in this guitar. Add a coil tap to the mix, and some surprisingly Fender-like tones start to surface. This guitar won't replace your Tele or Strat by any means, but you've certainly got a wealth of very usable full and split humbucker tones at your disposal.

All in all, an incredibly brilliant guitar! Priced with hardshell case.
