Just in from the NAMM 2020 show is this incredible myrtle topped, TK Smith pickup equipped Super Glide Almighty!

Sporting a myriad of attention grabbing features: a myrtle top (myrtle is indigenous to the Pacific Northwest and is similar to maple tonally), really cool/unique vintage German binding on the body, a satin nitro finishes, a B-11 Bigsby, and...oh yeah, those TK Smith pickups! Clearly the looks are off the charts great - very akin to Paul Bigsby's work - but it's the feel, killer tones, and tons of soul and vibe that remind us of why we love Koll guitars. 

The mahogany neck features a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, 10-14" compound radius, medium jumbo Jescar frets, and pearl bowtie inlays. The carve is a medium C - think slightly chunky ES-335 and you'll be in the ballpark. The fretwork is top not and the semi-round strings it shipped with really put you in a 50s mindset while playing. We feel pretty confident a set of round-wound strings would be equally great on this guitar. 

The biggest surprise is just how versatile the TK Smith C.A.R. pickups are. You can get into early rock n roll and western swing tones easily - but - we also put the guitar through a plethora of effect pedals. A rat-style distortion delivered some incredibly thick, singing tones - full-on, Big Muff-like fuzz, compression, and sustain. Into a cleaner amp, the neck pickup would make most jazz players blush. Just gorgeous, round, fat tones that'll have you reaching for Wes licks in no time.
