While this Koll Troubadour tips its hat to Leo Fender's designs w/bolt-neck construction, long-scale length, T-style bridge, and ash body, in our experience, Saul is not one to simply remake what's already been done a million times. While this 2-Tone Sunburst beauty may look like "just" a Tele style guitar with a different body shape, it's so much more than that...

Note the lack of fingerboard markers on the beautiful one-piece maple neck, Novak blade pickup in the bridge and TV Jones humbucker in the neck position...sure, this beauty will twang if you want it to but that's not exactly where it's coming from. This is a Tele style guitar for players who want an easier playing guitar that's capable of keeping up with an LP Junior if asked. This pickup combo definitely expands the typical Tele tonal palette by fattening up the midrange and output making rock tones a breeze. 

The overall feel is what separates this guitar from a more traditional Tele. There's something very sleek, fast, and well....badass about it. It's hard to capture a guitar's feel in words, but we absolute love where Saul took this build. It has that Tele simplicity but there's something quite a bit more sophisticated going on with it - visually, but also in the way it plays, responds, and sounds. It's a very dynamic, punchy guitar with great sustain. Perhaps that's it - it's a Tele that has the soul of, say, a Jr or LP - it feels solid, stout, and gladly gives back what you put into it. 

As we've said before, we love how Saul blends elegant, timeless design with an old-school rock n roll soul. These are gorgeous, soulful guitars that aren't afraid to crank and let loose when asked. Brilliant.
