Lowden F-50 Macassar Ebony & Sinker Redwood w/ Bevel

Sold

Description

This is one of those guitars that reminds us we're as big a bunch of wood geeks as any you'll find -- can you believe the looks of this thing? Lowden Guitars unveiled a new line of Macassar Ebony instruments at the just-completed NAMM show; and this F-50 was the centerpiece of their display. Quite simply, we couldn't walk past it when we saw it. An unbelievably gorgeous, master-grade Sinker Redwood top (which even the folks at Lowden will tell you was the best one in their vault) adorns equally stunning Macassar Ebony back and sides. While we tend to think of ebony back & sides as somewhat one-dimensional compared to rosewoods, when paired with a sinker Redwood top the results are captivating: this is a Lowden that has many of the tonal qualities of a vintage guitar. Looking for a guitar to play the classic finger style repertoire on without sacrificing articulation and presence? Here it is. Have a listen to our friend, Lindsay Straw, playing it over at the 'Video' icon. Priced with deluxe Ameritage hard case.
