Martin 2-17 (1927)

Description

This darling little 1927 Martin 2-17 is just back from a neck reset by Glen Nichols of Retrograde Guitars -- and it's sounding and playing better than ever. This guitar was purchased by a local customer, when TME was located in Harvard Square during the 1980's. It's been lovingly cared for, and it's ready for a new steward. The size 2 Martin body is a perfect "parlor" guitar -- smaller and lighter than a 0, but with just ever so slightly more low end than a 1, it's the ideal couch fingerpicking guitar. And its mellow, warm tone, is perfect for accompanying a voice. This beautiful example is in exceedingly clean, all-original condition, and plays perfectly thanks to that aforementioned neck set. We've paired it with a sturdy TKL hard case. A slam dunk for anyone interested in a parlor-sized guitar, and an excellent first foray into the world of vintage Martins.
