Description

"I like to refine my circuits and layouts to the point where they are so simple that it's almost a joke. Each time I build an amplifier I refine it more and more. The goal is not to make it easier to build or save money - a simple amp circuit just tends to sound best." -Tim Marcus

The F-Stop from Milkman Sound brings two effects found in vintage American tube amps into one pedal. The combo of a tube driven spring reverb with pulsating "bias" trem was first introduced in the early '60s and has become the standard sound for guitar players and other instrumentalists ever since.

The F-Stop has been designed to bring classic tube amp effects into a small package that runs off of a 9VDC pedal power supply. Internally, the F-Stop has 18v headroom so it can live as comfortably at the end of your signal chain as it does at the beginning. The spring portion of the pedal is digital, but the guitar single path and trem circuit are 100% analog.

The sound of bias trem and spring reverb is unmistakeable, and the F-Stop uses modern electronics to achieve an authentic recreation of these effects with similar circuit topography as found in tube amps.
